What do you associate with the idea of two dots?

A pianist might think of the two dots beside the base clef on a sheet of music manuscript. A gambler on the other hand might visualise the number two on a pair of lucky dice. A linguist might relate two dots to a colon – the symbol (:) often used to highlight a consequence, idea or fact. Or even the umlaut – the symbol ( ¨ ) used to distinguish the pronunciation of vowels in certain European languages.

Did you know that in Morse Code two dots reflects the letter “I”? And in a diagonal formation two dots also reflects the letter “I” in Braille? For some, two dots may be a way of visually explaining how to get from point A to point B, while a puzzle enthusiast might immediately relate the concept of two dots with the idea of joining the dots in a dot-to-dot.

For me, two dots symbolises transition or change.
